Adelaide Tree Topping
In the recent heat of Adelaide, a ‘topping out’ ceremony was held for our new Health Innovation Building for the University of South Australia. Designed in association with Adelaide Architects Swanbury Penglase, the building is very visible sitting near the new hospital on the city’s North Terrace.

As per the Scandinavian custom, a pine tree was hoisted onto the roof for the occasion to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced in its construction. Attendees were asked to sign their names on the concrete to be sealed for perpetuity.
