2018 Melbourne Design Awards
We're delighted to have two projects shortlisted in the Melbourne design Awards. They are:
BUNURONG MEMORIAL PARK - URBAN DESIGN
Bunurong Memorial Park has been shortlisted in the Urban Design category of the Melbourne Design Awards. BVN worked in collaboration with ASPECT Studios.
The Melbourne Design Awards for Urban Design celebrate creativity and innovation in the process of designing and shaping cities, towns and villages, and is focused on the making of connections between people and places, movement and urban form, nature and the built fabric. Consideration is given to the design of form, shape and character of groups of buildings, streets and public spaces, transport systems, services and amenities, whole neighbourhoods and districts, and entire cities, to make urban areas functional, attractive and sustainable.
Bunurong Memorial Park exemplifies an urban future that expands the possibilities and purpose of place, re-imagining the landscape within the increasingly urbanised environment of south-east Melbourne. The typical typology of a cemetery is challenged and blurred to embrace everyday life and community connection. Aligned with the ambitions of the Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT), Bunurong is a truly civic place for the community to celebrate life.

SPACE & CO - INTERIOR DESIGN, CORPORATE & COMMERICIAL
Space & Co’s new floor in Melbourne Central Tower has been shortlisted in the Melbourne Design Awards 'Interior Design - Corporate & Commercial' category.
This award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration is also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
Eight years ago GPT approached BVN having identified the need to shift to more strategic, human focused relationships with tenants, recognising that future workplaces will be more than the individual office, but instead part of a broader, amenity rich, eco-system within the building.
From this, Space & Co. was born, it is GPT Group’s answer to the demand for greater flexibility in workplaces and property leases. Space & Co. is commercial office space as a service, where flexibility is key.
