Lincolne Scott’s Melbourne office represents a new paradigm in sustainable workplace design. An inspirational space, it is designed to stimulate interaction between staff and develop a vibrant workplace, but most importantly it explores all aspects of sustainability.
The single floor workplace demonstrates an exceptional sustainable outcome being provided in a C grade, multi-tenanted, non-owner occupied building for less than average fit-out costs within a tight program.
Not only a fantastic sustainable outcome but a prime example of how achievable sustainability is in even below average circumstances.
With a focus on dematerialisation, this space expresses how relevant a ‘shell and core’ approach to speculative buildings in Australia would be by highlighting how little of the standard offering in office buildings is really required. The majority of the floor has no ceilings or carpets and lighting has been custom designed to suit the work practices of the group.
