Description

The interior has been designed to unify the companies that sit underneath the AECOM umbrella and in doing so strengthen the AECOM brand.

The AECOM/Maunsell/EDAW offices are comprised of approximately 2,240m² of workspace located over two levels, levels 45 and 44, of Naru House, an existing corporate multi-storey office building in Melbourne. The interior has been designed to unify the companies that sit underneath the AECOM umbrella and in doing so strengthen the AECOM brand.

An important feature is the connecting stair that has been inserted between the two levels, visually connecting workspaces and allowing staff to take advantage of spectacular views.

Level 44 (AECOM) follows the aesthetic and planning style initiated in their offices at 8 Exhibition St – an elegant, sophisticated open plan. The grey and white palette is punctuated with green from the glass boxes which form small, quiet room/meeting spaces.

Level 45 (EDAW) blends the understated style of AECOM with the culture of EDAW, a landscape and urban design firm. The floor exhibits an expanded colour palette – strong accent colours intermingle with the grey and white tones of Level 44. EDAW’s preoccupation is captured through the design of the reception area which calls on the visual imagery of the Melbourne urban grid in the graphic applied to the meeting room glazing. The undulating timber forms of the reception desk and the steel grid above the waiting bench also emphasise EDAW’s design preoccupation. Strong accent colours, polished concrete and timber floors and exposed concrete soffit ceilings have been incorporated into the design to reflect the spirit of EDAW as a landscape discipline.
