Sustainable Design

Sustainable Design is an embedded discipline in which the interdependence of built habitat and nature is implicit.

Bligh Voller Nield has an Environmental Policy confirming its commitment, objectives and approaches to achieving broad sustainable objectives.

We have invested significant time and money into achieving these objectives. Our primary tool for knowledge transfer is the creation of a research and database site within the Bligh Voller Nield Intranet.

All staff have access to material selection criteria, including lifecycle analysis, performance comparison, maintenance and recyclability. Within the practice, a dedicated research architect is charged with ongoing investigations of sustainability, both in the built and social context.
