Matthew Blair is BVN’s ACT Director and has been with the practice since 1999. Matthew has worked throughout BVN in all offices on a wide range of commercial, educational, public and residential buildings. Matthew graduated first from the University of Newcastle in 1999 and joined Bligh Voller Nield soon after. In 2000 Matthew participated in a design exchange program with leading British firm Richard Murphy Architects.

Matthew has developed comprehensive skills in leading large projects and working through their many complexities. Matthew has recently been Project Director on the new Sovereign Headquarters building in Auckland, the ICT building at the University of Newcastle and a new office tower in Brisbane. Matthew has recently moved to Canberra to take up the role of State Director.

Matthew has been a design tutor at The University of Sydney, a guest critic at The University of NSW and The University of Sydney, a lecturer at The University of Canberra an exhibitor in the Australian Architecture Association ‘Young Architects’ series 2006 and an invited speaker at the RAIA.
